Every possible replacement striker for Chelsea's remaining games

With no Nicolas Jackson for the rest of the season, Chelsea have a mini-crisis at striker. Enzo Maresca's two options are either forcing a half-fit backup such as Guiu or Nkunku, or playing wth a makeshift 9 from his list of wingers.

What's worse - Manchester United and Nottingham Forest will both be daunting prospects for Chelsea with no Jackson to affect play.

The Red Devils shouldn't be underestimated despite some shocking league form this year, while Forest guaranteed European football after their 2-2 draw with Leicester City. Chelsea drew with both teams earlier in the season, with both games ending 1-1.

TYRIQUE GEORGE

I did not see a striker in Tyrique George, but the young Cobham grad has bossed it thus far, particularly when he's featured in Europe.

There was that great goal against Fulham that sparked a Chelsea comeback win, a fantastic turn and strike, with a composed celebration on top.

I also think Chelsea's lack of depth at striker has moved George there, especially as he is still so young and malleable, with potential to play a variety of roles.

Chelsea will almost certainly sign a backup to Jackson in the summer, but George has staked his claim and deserves to keep his spot in the squad.

He's the favourite to start up front on Friday.

PEDRO NETO

I really like where Neto is playing right now - a supporting RW who is accurate with his crosses, has skill to beat his defender and is a solid attacking option down the flank.

I do think that is where he will remain on Friday, as George slots into the striker spot - but I wouldn't be shocked if Maresca decides to move Neto there for the Forest game.

Neto has already played up front this season while Jackson recovered from injury, and while he didn't drastically add to his attacking numbers, he was decent, and added that he enjoys playing through the middle.

COLE PALMER

We've rarely seen Cole as the focal point in this Chelsea team - likely as he is much more effective as a creator from deep, placed alongside Enzo Fernandez.

Palmer scored a hat-trick in last seasons edition of this fixture, with two from the penalty spot and an emphatic finish from a corner to win the match late for Chelsea.

Perhaps a move to ST could reignite that goalscoring form, but I think Maresca will look to other options.

MARC GUIU

Guiu is pushing for a return, and is back in team training this week, albeit away from the rest of the team. That does not bode well for a spot in the starting lineup, but a cameo from the bench might be on the cards.

The profile Guiu gives Chelsea is unique - he's tall and physical, but also has a tremendous workrate and energy; the Spaniard knows he needs to make a good impression after making the move overseas at such a young age.

He could make a cameo off the bench, which would be a welcome sight.

CHRISTOPHER NKUNKU

Nkunku is Chelsea's only other direct replacement at number 9 - a position I don't think he suits at all; I prefer him as a second striker sitting in the 10 spot, but that area has been held by Cole Palmer for a good while now.

It's no surprise Nkunku wants to explore other options in the summer, with several clubs interested.

Nonetheless, he hasn't trained this week and I'd be stunned if he was fit enough to make the matchday squad.
